Black Mage is a recurring type of class in the Final Fantasy franchise. Though physically weak, Black Mages have the ability to cast powerful Black Magic spells, often elemental-based, such as Fire, Blizzard, and Thunder. They can also cast more destructive spells, such as Flare and Meteor. Black Mages make their debut appearance in the first Final Fantasy.
